VERMILLION, S.D. (KTIV) -
There will be no more smoking on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
The schools executive committee voted to ban it; starting in January.
This after a resolution was passed by the student government association and supported by the Faculty Senate. The school president says while they want to be fair to everyone, this is a health issue.
This initiative started almost a decade ago and was fueled by a campus poll taken in February of 2011-- where 62 percent of student supported the ban.
