Schaller, Iowa (KTIV) -
A Siouxland woman has been appointed to the national board that oversees the way soybean checkoff funds are spent.
Laura Foell of Schaller, Iowa is among 16 new appointees named to the United Soybean Board by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.
The 69-member board describes its mission as investing and leveraging soybean checkoff funds to maximize profit opportunities for U.S. soybean farmers.
Vilsack says the 16 new members represent a cross section of the soybean industry.
They were nominated by their state soybean boards and will serve three-year terms beginning in December.
