Conference brings together city leaders from across Iowa
City leaders from all across the state came together for this year's Iowa League of Cities Conference.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City isn't located in the middle of Iowa, but this week, it was Iowa's center of attention. City leaders from all across the state came together for this year's Iowa League of Cities Conference.
Besides an exhibit hall, the conference had various workshops, which provided training for city officials on issues that they might encounter.
Topics included, "best practices for going green," "how to run a council meeting," and "fighting future flood damage."
One of the best things about the conference is networking.
"The networking is incredible. It's an opportunity for city officials from all over the state to sit down and just chat about what's going on in their communities and how they do things and to share notes," said Alan Kemp, Iowa League of Cities Executive Director.
The conference moves around the state each year. In 2013, it'll be held in Dubuque.
