SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KTIV) -
On Sunday, Hyperion declined to extend options on every acre of land it had in Union County, South Dakota. Hyperion officials realize there's work to be done.
Hyperion Vice President Preston Phillips admits it will be a "challenge" to option it, again. Preston Phillips, Hyperion Vice President says, "We're gonna continue to talk with landowners. We hope to resolve any issues we have with real estate in the near future."
Phillips wouldn't say how the company could do that. Critic Ed Cable calls the task "impossible." Ed Cable, Elk Point, SD says, "We're certainly not surprised, but we would suggest that they will not get land control again. And, they will certainly have to start over with rezoning and air permit application from scratch."
Again, Hyperion has until March of 20-13 to start construction.
