The veterinarians say his eyes and ears are fully open.
San Diego Zoo's cutest resident is now able to hear and see more of the big world around him.
The zoo's 9-week-old giant panda cub had an exam Thursday morning and the veterinarians say his eyes and ears are fully open. The cub, which was born on July 29th, now weighs 6.6 pounds.
The staff had to end the exam quickly because the little guy began to demonstrate another important developmental milestone, the ability to vocalize. The vets didn't want to cause stress to either the panda or his mother, so they quickly returned him to her care.
