Actor endorses Nebraska U.S. Senate candidate Bob Kerrey

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -

Nebraska U.S. Senate candidate Bob Kerrey has gotten one wild and crazy endorsement.

Comedian and actor Steve Martin appears in an oddly humorous video endorsing Kerrey, who faces Republican Deb Fischer in the November election.,

In the video, Martin purports to be a "home crafts expert" demonstrating how to make a paper wad.

Throughout the tutorial, a person off-screen holds up messages touting Kerrey's experience as a one-time Nebraska governor and two-term senator and urging Nebraskans to back him.

A Fischer spokesman says support from celebrities, quote "might impress voters in New York," but won't matter to Nebraskans.
