SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Drew Melanson scored the only goal in a shootout to lift the Omaha Lancers to a 3-2 win over Sioux City Saturday night at the Tyson Events Center.

It's Omaha first win of the season. Sioux City is now 0-1-2 on the season.

Scoreless after the first period, David Henry gave Sioux City a 1-0 on a rebound following a shot by Jake Montgomery.

It remained a 1-0 game until Ben Ostile tied things up at the 12:09 mark in the third period on a powerplay goal.

Still tied at one with less than three minutes to play, David Goodwin scored a shorthanded goal, but Omaha's Drew Melanson answered with a goal with four seconds to play in the game to force overtime.

With no scoring in the first extra period, Drew Melanson beat keeper Joe Ballmer in a shootout to life the Lancers.
