NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KTIV) -
Three-hundred Siouxland union workers could hit the picket lines this week, after Interbake Foods employees rejected the company's "last, best, and final offer," Sunday.
Bakers Local 433 spokesperson Paula Steig wouldn't give specific numbers, but said workers voted "overwhelmingly" not to accept the North Sioux City, South Dakota company's new three-year contract.
Interbake employees have been working under an extension of a six-year contract that expired in April.
Steig said the union's issues with the offer have to do with "quality of life," but declined to offer specifics.
She said the union is willing to return to the negotiating table, but no date has been set to meet with company officials.
Steig said with Sunday's vote, Interbake was been notified that the extension will expire on Wednesday.
She wouldn't comment on when a strike would start, only saying that employees are being encouraged to show up to work on Monday.
