Chamber rewards Gerkin CEO for entrepreneurial excellence

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Steve Schneider, president and CEO of Gerkin Windows and Doors has been awarded the "W. Edwards Deming award" for entrepreneurial excellence.

Gerkin has grown its number of employees every year for the last 21-years. Last spring, Gerkin broke ground on an expansion of its South Sioux City plant, which Schneider says will more than double his company's glass production.

Schneider accepted the award on behalf of his father, Otto, his brother, Paul, and the 165 workers at Gerkin.
