USDA releases weekly crop reports for the tri-state area

DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) -

The U.S. Agriculture Department says, the Iowa corn harvest advanced 20 percentage points from last week, while soybean harvest advanced 26 percentage points according to USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service, Iowa Field Office.

Northwest Iowa farmers, with 91 percent of their corn acreage harvested and 96 percent of their soybean harvested, continue to lead the way with row crop harvest in the State.

In Nebraska, the corn harvest is two-thirds complete, one month ahead of average.

Soybean harvest was over 70 percent complete, near two weeks ahead of average.

In South Dakota, row crop harvest advanced again last week with the soybean harvest nearing completion.

The corn for grain harvest is 78 percent complete and the soybean harvest is 94 percent complete.

Both are ahead of the five-year averages.
