Some Siouxland students listen to a classic tale thanks to the "Spotlight on Literacy"

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Some Sioux City students took a fantastic field trip, on Tuesday but never left their school.

They took a trip in their minds to Narnia.

That's the setting for the C.S. Lewis novel, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."

Dozens of students at Washington Elementary, and at Sunnyside Elementary, listened to KTIV's Matt Breen read the story to them.

They all got a copy of the book to keep thanks to the "Spotlight on Literacy" program put on by KTIV and the Sioux City Community Theatre.

Next week, those kids will go to the Sioux City Community Theatre to see "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" performed on stage.
