SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

October is "Disability Employment Awareness Month".

Sioux City employers and city officials will discuss successes they've had by employing people with disabilities.

"The unemployment rate for people with disabilities is two times the national average. The average business accommodation that's needed for someone with a disability only costs about $50," Karen Mackey, the Executive Director of the Sioux City Human Rights Commission said.

The event will take place on October 17th at 6:30 p.m.

It will be in Council Chambers at City Hall.

The public will be able view the forum on public access channel 10.
