Folks who work there say if a casino goes in they'll expect more business, and more hours.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City is buzzing after a Las Vegas developer announced they'd like to turn the Battery Building into a Hard Rock Casino.
Shops and restaurants nearby are eager to see it happen, hoping it'll boost business.
Jitters sells coffee and donuts on Pearl Street.
That's right around the corner from the proposed site.
Folks who work there say if a casino goes in they'll expect more business, and more hours.
They also say they might see a few new neighbors.
"I would hope that it would encourage other small business or any business in general to also start moving down here to this area," said Melanie Boardman, who works at Jitters on Pearl said.
Officials with Sioux City's Downtown Partners agree.
They have a study to back it up.
