SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Getting back into society after prison can be challenging.
That's why there's the Clare Guest House in Sioux City.
The women's transitional house has 5 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining, and living room.
The biggest challenge the women face after jail is getting a job.
Women can stay at the house while looking for a job or learning new skills.
Not only that, but having multiple parolees or other problems at home can lead a woman to staying at Clare's.
"Many times, even though families love them, they're simply not able to accommodate someone coming out of prison," Sister Grace Ann Witte, the Clare Guest House Board of Directors Secretary said.
The house opened in 2005 and has helped 50 women back in the community.
The neighborhood has been very supported of the house and women.
