LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV) -

After losing to Ohio State, Nebraska coach Bo Pelini publicly challenged his Cornhuskers to go 6-0 in their remaining regular-season games. That's a big challenge heading into Saturday's game against 6-1 Northwestern. No Nebraska team since 2-thousand-1 has won six straight in the same season.

Husker fans, hoping for a first conference championship in 13 years, hope it can happen. Pelini issued his challenge after a 25-point loss to Ohio State. The Buckeyes rolled up almost 500 yards of total offense, and scored touchdowns on five straight drives in the second and third quarters.

Pelini says it's time to get back to work.

"In life you've got to get hit in the mouth to pick up your resolve and get back to the realization that it's just not going to happen for them for whatever reason. You got to earn it," said Pelini. "You get what you earn in this world. It just doesn't happen on Saturday. It just doesn't happen for that sixty minutes. It's all the things that go up into allowing you to have the success."

Northwestern beat Nebraska, 28-25, in Lincoln last season, when the Huskers were ranked ninth in the country. The Huskers are four and a half point favorites for Saturday's 2:30 game.
