13 members of the 185th landed in Sioux City around 9:30.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A big day for several members of the 185th Air Refueling wing.
13 returned back home to Sioux City after serving in Southeast Asia for six months.
Airmen from the 185th security forces squadron enjoyed a homecoming celebration, as they made their way off the plane Wednesday morning around 9:15 a.m.
Before serving overseas, the airmen went through pre-deployment training back in January.
After 12 to 14 hour work days, six days a week, for months on-end, members say they're thrilled to be back, and they look forward to taking it easy.
"I'm going to relax for a while, probably go to a Hawkeye game, hang out with family," said Staff Sergeant Joshua Drew, 185th Refueling Wing.
"Just reunite with the family and just kind of train to re-integrate into normal life," said Master Sergeant Michael Loghry, 185th Security Forces Operations Superintendent.
Airmen helped secure a base and did mobile patrols.
