ALBERT CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

An Albert City, Iowa man foiled an attempt to burglarize his rural home when he caught the crooks in the act.

Authorities say he came home to find two people trying to break-in and was able to keep them there until law enforcement arrived.

Buena Vista County Sheriff's officials arrested 45-year-old Steven Anderson and 37-year-old Mary Lawson.

After searching their home in Webb, Iowa, authorities say they found items stolen from at least four burglaries in Buena Vista and Clay counties, and a large quantity of drugs.

Both face charges of burglary and attempted burglary, with more charges expected.

A 17-year-old male also faces charges in the case.
