Officials: Fire does minimal damage at Port Neal Industrial Complex

Fire has done minor damage to one of the plants at the Port Neal Industrial Complex, near Salix, Iowa.

NEAR SALIX, Iowa (KTIV) -

Fire has done minor damage to one of the plants at the Port Neal Industrial Complex, near Salix, Iowa.

Salix fire chief Justin Iverson says the small fire broke out inside one of the "coal reclaim towers", and in one of the dust collection bag houses" at about 2:30 Thursday morning.

The cause?

Coal dust.

The flames were contained to that room.
