Dakota County Rural Water customers urged to boil water after leak

Posted:
DAKOTA COUNTY, Neb. (KTIV) -

Customers who get their water from Dakota County Rural Water, in northeast Nebraska, are asked to boil their water before consuming it.

That follows a leak near the water system's water tower.

For now, the water system has been shut down to complete repairs. The system may be down for several hours.

In the meantime, customers should boil their water before using it for cooking, washing dishes, or brushing teeth.

Bring the water to a "rolling boil" for at least one minute, and then let the water cool before using it.
