New unemployment numbers for all three Siouxland states are released

Iowa's unemployment rate dropped to 5.2 percent in September, down significantly from the August figure.

Iowa Workforce Development says the September rate released Friday was down from 5.5 percent in August.

The rate in September of last year was 5.9 percent.

South Dakota's unemployment rate is 4.4 percent.

That's down a tenth of a percent from August.

Nebraska's unemployment rate has dropped to 3.9 percent.

The state labor department reports the latest rate from September is a tenth of a point under the state's rates in August and July.

Only North Dakota had a lower unemployment rate than Nebraska with 3 percent.
