Woman charged with stealing money from Dakota City business

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. (KTIV) -

A woman is charged with stealing more than $67,000 from the Dakota City, Nebraska business where she worked.

Authorities have charged 35-year-old Rebecca Bottjen, of Osage, Iowa with 20 felony counts of theft.

Court documents say as the company's bookkeeper she took money from New Ideas Fabrication welding shop.

She's accused of writing checks to herself and transferring money out of the company's accounts without authorization from October 2010 to February.
