ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- -

Northwestern College running back Brandon Smith is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week.

Smith, a senior, from Mankato, Minnesota, helped lead the Red Raiders to a victory over conference foe Briar Cliff this past weekend. Smith played a key role in Northwestern's record-breaking offensive performance rushing for a career-high 247 yards on 22 carries.  He posted the sixth highest rushing total in school history.

Smith was an instrumental part in the Northwestern rushing attack that set the school record with 475 rushing yards.  He also rushed for four touchdowns on the day tying his career-high.

The 16th-ranked Red Raiders (6-2) will take on #25 Dakota Wesleyan (5-2) Saturday in a conference match up. That's a 7:00 PM kickoff in Mitchell, South Dakota.
