SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

City leaders see clearly the future of at least one business in Morningside. The council voted unanimously to move Dr. Michael Wadzinski's clinic from St. Luke's Pierce Street location to a new venue in Morningside, near the new St. Luke's Medical Clinic being built on Sunnybrook Drive.

The move will help expand Wadzinski's practice with the new 7,000 square foot facility. Wadzinski will also add three more employees to his staff.

To move the project along, the city approved a tax rebate for the first two years the facility will be open.

"With the new St. Luke's building being constructed on Sunnybrook, this is also attracting more medical to that area. So, the eye clinic will be a nice addition to that campus, and the whole Sunnybrook area," said Marty Dougherty, director of economic development for the city of Sioux City.

Construction on the clinic will begin next year.
