Macy, NE man sentenced for stomping teen after fight with girlfriend

MACY, Neb. (KTIV) -

A Macy, Nebraska, man will spend 18-months in federal prison for assaulting a child.

Prosecutors say 43-year-old Charles Phillips, Jr., got into an argument with his girlfriend.

The girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter yelled at Phillips to leave her mother alone. Phillips cursed at the girl, then went over and stomped on her head. The girl was briefly knocked unconscious and her nose was broken.
