Dakota Valley edges Tea Area in overtime

NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD (KTIV) -- -

Last Thursday, Dakota Valley beat Tea Area, 20-19. That earned the Panthers a rematch in South Dakota's Class 11-A playoffs.

Second-ranked Dakota Valley also won the rematch, 40-37, in overtime on Tuesday.

Dakota Valley scored first in the first quarter. Aaron Likness threw to Andrew Reiff for a 22-yard touchdown and the Panthers led 7-0.

After Tea Area cut the lead to 7-6, Colton Mahler took the ensuing kickoff and returned it 92 yards for a touchdown and the Panthers took a 14-6 lead.

It was 20-20 at the half it went to overtime tied at 34. Dakota Valley wins 40 to 37 on a Likness to Reiff touchdown pass.
