Bob Kerrey has run for president before. He's also served in the U-S Senate. That's a job he wants back.
He says "job one" if he's elected will be to change the culture of Washington.
Kerrey says a lot has changed since he left the Senate in 2001. Bob Kerrey, (D) U.S. Senate Candidate says, "The Congress is supposed to be the people's Congress. What's happened, because of the dysfunction-- in my view-- more and more power is shifting to the executive branch. And, I don't personally think that's healthy."
Kerrey says he never dreamed he see the day that he'd support a constitutional amendment that would force the Congress to reorganize in a non-partisan fashion. But, to break the gridlock, that's what Kerrey says he'll support. He'll also support term limits for members of Congress, and an outright ban on outside money.
A new poll, done by Pharos Research, puts Kerrey down 2-points to Republican challenger Deb Fischer.
