Sioux Falls braces for crowds at McGovern services

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -

Sioux Falls, South Dakota is getting ready for an influx of political figures, family and friends in town to celebrate the life and career of former U.S. Senator George McGovern.

Considered a legend in the state's political history, the three-time presidential candidate and staunch liberal died Sunday at age 90.

Hundreds are expected to gather Thursday for a public viewing and prayer service at First United Methodist Church.

Among the confirmed guests Thursday night is Vice President Joe Biden.

Funeral services will be held Friday in Sioux Falls.
