WASHINGTON, DC (NBC) -
In the race for the White House the campaign frenzy continued Thursday.
Mitt Romney campaigned across Ohio, his must-win state.
President Obama, meanwhile, started the day hoarse after an exhausting Wednesday.
He'd been in Iowa, on the "Tonight Show" in Los Angeles, in Nevada for a late rally, then to Air Force One for a flight to Florida.
He also called Former Secretary of State General Colin Powell to thank him for his endorsement.
After an early morning appearance in Florida, where he trails by two points in the latest polls, the President moved on to Richmond, Virginia.
The race appears to be tied in that state.
Nationwide, the Obama lead with women has disappeared.
He's reminding them that a Republican senate candidate on Tuesday called conception after rape "God's will".
"I think we've seen again this week, I don't think any male politician should be making health care decisions for women," the president told supporters.
Romney was on the move as well.
"The path we're on, the status quo path, is one that doesn't have an answer for how to get our economy going," he told supporters in Cincinnati.
Romney's campaign has cut the president's Ohio lead from six points to two.
Both sides know a big effort communicates energy and commitment to voters.
On Friday they'll catch their breath a bit before heading back to the campaign trail.
