A Northwest Iowa man is in custody, after police say he held a woman against her will

STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Storm Lake police were called to 1123 East Milwaukee Avenue Thursday night to find a man who failed to appear in court.

Police found 31-year-old Christian Wunder, of Storm Lake, Iowa in the basement of the home.

Police also found illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

While police were at the home, they say an elderly gentleman living there reported personal checks that were stolen, forged and cashed at a local bank.

They also say Wunder held a 22-year-old woman against her will and choked her.

Wunder is charged with Domestic Assault, False Imprisonment, three counts of Forgery, Theft, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He has being held without bond at the Buena Vista County jail.
