NEAR CROFTON, Neb. (KTIV) -
Investigators are trying to find out what caused a wind turbine, in northeast Nebraska, to catch fire Wednesday night.
The turbine is part of the Crofton Bluffs wind farm, which is just southwest of Crofton. A spokesperson from Vestas, which made the turbine, confirms it caught fire.
No one was hurt.
Vestas is still working to get its plant, which is powered by 22 turbines, back on-line.
In December of 2008, the explosion of a wind turbine, near Bloomfield, Nebraska, injured three workers. That wind farm is owned by Edison Mission Energy. EME also owns the Crofton Bluffs wind farm.
