Kids breakfast break turns into Disney day

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Saturday morning breakfast turned into a time of food and fun for the whole family. They got a chance to meet Disney characters.

North High choir students invited their favorite friends to entertain the guests, and raise money for a trip to San Francisco in the spring.

Before, after, and even during their dining experience, guests got to interact with their favorite Disney characters. There were silent auction items, craft stations, and even a sing-along.

Organizers say after weeks of planning, the students are now a step closer to the West Coast.

"A couple weeks ago, we had some of our students dress up in costume and go to some of the elementary schools right as school was letting out and things like that," said Andrew Stonegate, one of the choir directors at North High School.

North High is expected to hold several more fundraisers for the choir before the year is out. The cost for the trip is about $1200 per student.
