Court ruling means Argosy owner plans to move forward with own casino proposal

A ruling by an Iowa judge means the license holder for Sioux City's casino can submit a proposal to build a new land-based casino with a new operator. Citing breach of contract, Penn National Gaming filed an injunction to prevent that from happening, but a judge denied Penn's request. That allows Missouri River Historical Development to submit plans to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission for a Hard Rock Casino with new partner Sioux City Entertainment.

UPDATE: Michelle Obama uses Sioux City stop to underscore importance of election

First Lady Michelle Obama was in Sioux City Monday campaigning for her husband, President Obama. The First lady emphasized the importance of this election by talking about the last election. In 2008, Barack Obama won Iowa by 147,000 votes. She says, President Obama's response to rebuilding the economy distinguishes him from other politicians.

Sandy forces political pause with 7 days left

Ann Romney is also campaigning for her husband. Mitt Romney, has canceled many of his campaign stops because of the Hurricane Sandy, but Ann Romney will collect supplies for east coast storm victims during campaign stops in three Iowa cities Tuesday. She'll stop in Davenport, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.
