AMES, Iowa (KTIV) - -
Oklahoma comes to Ames on Saturday and that's usually bad news for the Cyclones. In 76 all-time meetings, Iowa State has 5 wins, 69 losses and two ties against the Sooners.
Iowa State is coming off a 35-21 win over Baylor, while Oklahoma is still smarting from a loss to Notre Dame.
The Cyclones big concern in getting to six wins to become bowl eligible. The Sooners are 11 point favorites and have won 20 straight games in Ames. Iowa State has only beaten OU once since 1970.
"Iowa State University's football record against Oklahoma is dismal and our guys know that," said ISU head coach Paul Rhoads. "It's another great challenge against a traditional powerhouse in college football. It's one of the reasons you play in this league. You look forward to these types of games."
"They're human just like us," said ISU tight end Ernst Brun. "They put their pads on and they go through meetings, the same things we do. I hear Oklahoma, I just think of another team that's in the Big 12."
Iowa State and Oklahoma play Saturday at 11:00 AM on ABC.
