Yankton, South Dakota has its first female city manager

YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) -

35-year-old Amy Nelson, who has been city manager in Canton the past four years, has been hired for the job.

She replaces Doug Russell, who left in June, as the new city manager in Yankton.

Nelson worked in a couple of states in positions including downtown development director and senior community planner before taking the job in Canton.
