SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Joel Nixon tossed five touchdown passes, and the Morningside defense pitched its second straight shutout as the No.4 ranked Mustangs cruised to a 50-0 win over Concordia Saturday afternoon.
After forcing Concordia to a three and out on its opening possession, the Mustangs drove right down the field and capped off a 64 yard drive with a 23 yard touchdown reception by Joel McCabe.
The Mustangs would score on six of their seven possessions as they improved to 9-0 on the season.
Jon Halvorson led the way on the ground for Morningside with 70 yards and two scores. Nixon had 54 yard rushing.
Morningside closes out the season with a date with Briar Cliff in Sioux City on Nov. 10.

Needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, No. 17 Northwestern defeated No. 25 Hastings 45-6 Saturday in Hastings, Nebraska.
Quarterback Davis Bloemendaal threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns as the Red Raiders improved to 8-2 (6-2 GPAC) on the season.
Brandon Smith ran for 136 yards, while teammate Theo Bartman added 116 yards.
Northwestern has now won three of their past four games and will close out the season Nov. 10 against Dordt.
