SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
As election night draws closer, Republicans and Democrats are ramping up efforts to get their presidential candidates the win. On Saturday, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, Kansas governor Sam Brownback and Mississippi governor Phil Bryant were in Sioux City to meet and greet with potential voters.
The Republicans gave a few words of inspiration to voters, trying to get them to the polls for Republican Mitt Romney.
Santorum won the Iowa caucus back in January. He says he's learned a thing or two about close races, and says Romney's need for support spurred him into action.
"I can't in all good conscience sit on the sidelines and not continue to go out there and fight for someone who shares the vision of the people of Northwest Iowa," said Santorum.
Governors Brownback and Bryant also fired up the crowd. They said swing states like Iowa could make all the difference in choosing the next president, and these final hours are the most important.
"This is like when your line kicks in, to use a football analogy. Just push, just get in there and be aggressive just pushing people in across the line, and that's what I'm out doing," said Brownback.
The group's campaign bus also made stops in Storm Lake, Carroll, Atlantic, and Harlan Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, they're headed east to campaign in Virginia in the final two days before the election.
