Decision 2012: Stanton County voters decide on local option sales tax increase
STANTON, NE (KTIV) -
Stanton, Nebraska voters decide yes or no, on the ballot question below about the Local Option Sales Tax Increase.
"Shall the governing body of the City of Stanton, Nebraska impose a 1½% sales and use tax upon the same transactions within the City of Stanton, Nebraska on which the State of Nebraska is authorized to impose a tax? The proceeds collected therefrom to be used specifically for any lawful purpose which may include, but not be limited to, repair of streets and bridges, infrastructure within the city limits, general property tax relief, funding the payment of capital improvements which shall include the payment of interest and principal of any bonds and the principal and interest of any loan funds used to finance capital improvements, and shall the City of Stanton, Nebraska increase its budgeted restricted funds for fiscal year 2013-2014 by $100,000.00 over the current year's restricted funds according to the adopted 2012-2013 budget statement? The sales and use tax imposed herein shall not have sunset date."
