Woodbury County has a new sheriff, long time deputy Dave Drew

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Woodbury County deputy sheriff Dave Drew has beat Doug Boetger, who is Woodbury County's Chief Deputy.

Dave Drew lives in Lawton.  He's currently a Woodbury County deputy sheriff.  He's been in law enforcement for 31 years.  He ran unsuccessfully for county sheriff in 2008.  He wants to look at costs saving methods and community policing methods.

Doug Boetger lives in Lawton, Iowa.  He's the Chief Deputy.  He's spent 25 years in Sheriff's Office and has been the Assistant Chief Deputy at Woodbury County Sheriff's Office since 2009.  He wants to keep the jail population even and be accessible to residents.
