Sac City, IA authorities investigate skeletal remains found in a home

SAC CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Authorities in Sac City Iowa are investigating after skeletal remains were found in the basement of a house.

Sac City police say around 3:45 on Monday morning.

The owner of a home at 610 North Fifth Street was cleaning in the basement and found the remains.

Those remains have since been sent to the state medical examiner's office for autopsy.

The Sac County Sheriff's department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are helping with the investigation.
