SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Redistricting pitted two freshman lawmakers against each other in the race for District 13.
Democrat Chris Hall beat Republican Jeremy Taylor 53-46%. Hall said he has two priorities in the next legislative session.
"Economic development and addressing some of the programs that help us to compete with South Dakota. Second of all would be residential property taxes. I don't think that those priorities will change for me until something about either of them is addressed, and I look forward to continuing to work on them. I suspect that I'll probably be drafting bills before the end of the week," said Hall.
Hall commended his opponent, Jeremy Taylor, for the campaign he ran and the two years they worked together in the legislature.
