M-M-C held a pep rally on Wednesday before the Eagles headed to Cedar Falls.
MARCUS, Iowa (KTIV) -
Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn's football team will play in the 8-man semifinals for the first time on Thursday. The school held a pep rally for the Eagles on Wednesday afternoon before they headed to Cedar Falls.
MMC is 12-0 and ranked seventh in Iowa's 8-man class. The Eagles were just 4-6 last season and weren't even getting votes in the preseason polls.
The players have paid off on a bet, getting mohawks after they made the playoffs and now need just two more wins to take home the state championship.
"It is a sweet, sweet piece of victory to be able to know that we reached this milestone unblemished and hoping to make it continue," said Kyle Oswald, Eagles Head Coach.
MMC will face #4 Exira-EHK at noon on Thursday. KTIV will be in Cedar Falls to bring you the highlights.
