Bishop Heelan won their first Match at the state volleyball tournament, 3-1, over West Delaware.

Bishop Heelan won their first round match at the Iowa high school state volleyball tournament, 3-1, over eighth-ranked West Delaware.
With the win, the second-ranked Crusaders move into the state semifinals for the tenth straight year. Bishop Heelan (36-10) will play sixth-ranked Solon (32-4) in round two. Solon beat #3 Harlan, 3-0, in their first round match.
The match started almost two hours late, but Heelan took the first two sets quickly by scores of 25-17 and 25-19. The Hawks won set three, 25-17, before Heelan took the final set, 25-20.
Bishop Heelan is at the state tournament for the 15th straight year.
