NEAR LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Plymouth County Sheriff's department says they were called to the 1300 block of K-22 near Le Mars around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Authorities say the driver, Victor Casias and his two year old son were out of the pick-up, which was in a nearby creek bed.

The driver told authorities he fell asleep, entered the ditch, went across a corn field and went into the creek.

Both had minor injuries.

Authorities believe the driver had been drinking.

He's charged with a third offense OWI, child endangerment, driving while suspended, and failure to secure a child.
