Sioux City firefighters are putting their skills to the test, under the lights.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Teamwork can save lives. Especially when you're fighting a fire.
Sioux City firefighters have spent the last few nights putting their skills to the test. They're conducting night time training, under the lights.
Besides putting out fires in these drills, they must deal with the challenges of searching for victims, treating the wounded, and other obstacles that may be in their way in a real situation.
"Not being able to see where you're going, where you're stepping, and things like that. So we do this just to provide more realism," said Gerry Bennett, Sioux City Fire Rescue Training Officer.
Another important skill, making sure they're safe too. These drills were held at Sioux City Fire Rescue's training center on Terminal Drive.
