Homestead decked out with Christmas decor
NEAR MCCOOK LAKE, S.D. (KTIV) -
Santa made an early visit near McCook Lake in South Dakota Saturday. It was part of the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve Christmas Celebration to get people into the holiday spirit. The event also encourages people to step back in time to learn about the history of the region.
Jody Moats, a park naturalist says it's a hidden treasure year round.
"It's actually just a great place to come out and learn about your cultural history and natural history of South Dakota, and also as Mary Adams one of the sisters who donated the land would say it's a great way to find your inner renewal, it's just beautiful," Moats said.
Saturday's event included guided tours, a holiday ornament workshop, and a chance to meet Santa. The event is its 6th year.
