Morningside and Northwestern advance to NAIA Football Championship Series

Morningside captured its second undefeated season in school history with a 10-0 mark. Morningside captured its second undefeated season in school history with a 10-0 mark.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

For the ninth straight season, No. 3 Morningside advanced to the NAIA Football Championship Series.  Fellow GPAC contender No. 12 Northwestern is back in the postseason for the first time since the 2006 season.

The Mustangs will host No.14 Montana Tech (8-2) in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 17.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Red Raiders will hit the road to take on #5 Marian (Ind.) (8-1) next Saturday as well.  Kick off is also scheduled for 1 p.m.
