Barn fire caused by children

NEAR WHITING, Iowa (KTIV) -

Authorities say children playing with lighters are to blame for a fire that burned down a barn near Whiting, Iowa.

Whiting Fire Chief Steve Snyder says the barn at 19526 190th Street is a total loss.

Crews were on the scene for four hours.

Snyder says hay inside the barn caught fire.

No people or animals were injured.
