Posted:

Nebraska Central Railroad has announced the opening of a new rail bridge serving Norfolk.

The new steel bridge is 209 feet long.

It replaces an historic thru-truss style 98-foot rail bridge built in 1889.

The construction was in response to an increased demand to move freight by rail by businesses in the area.
