Past State VFW Commander John Iossi reminded everyone of the year-round call for patriotism.
NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
Although Veterans Day is November 11th on all American calendars, the patriotic spirit should be celebrated every day of the year.
That was the message from John Iossi of Columbus, Nebraska at Monday morning's Veterans Day Program at the Norfolk Veterans Home.
Iossi, a Veteran and the past State VFW Commander, was the program's keynote speaker.
In front of a full-house crowd filled with more than 100 military heroes Iossi reminded everyone of the year-round call for patriotism.
"Veterans Day is really a celebration of the freedoms we enjoy because of the Veterans. And, it's because of the freedoms we enjoy that it's a celebration that continues all year, not just on Veteran's Day. Veteran's Day we just kind of get together…it's a culmination of that year-long celebration," John Iossi, Past NE State VWF Commander said.
Veteran's Day programs were also held on Monday at Norfolk Senior High, Norfolk Catholic High School, Christ Lutheran Elementary and Northeast Community College.
