Norfolk Catholic is going to the championship game for the fourth straight year after a 34-14 win over Pierce on Tuesday.

Norfolk Catholic is going to the Class C1 championship game for the fourth straight year after a 34-14 win over Pierce on Tuesday night. It was the 300th career win for Norfolk Catholic head coach Jeff Bellar.
The win avenged the Knights' only loss of the season to the Bluejays, 20-19, back on October 12th.
The Knights took their opening drive and march right down the field. Jackson Love opened the scoring with a one yard touchdown run to make it 7-0 Norfolk Catholic after one quarter.
In the second quarter, on 3rd and 22, Jordan Bellar threw a touchdown pass to Riley Knake to make it 13-0. Bellar had a 145 yards through the air. Love added his second score of the game and Norfolk Catholic takes a 20-0 lead into the half.
Nate Meier had a 99-yard touchdown run for Pierce in the third quarter to make it 20-6, but that's as close at it got. Meier had 225 yards rushing.
Also in C1, second-ranked Boone Central/Newman Grove beat #1 Adams Central, 21-14. They will play Norfolk Catholic for the title, next Tuesday at 2:45 PM in Lincoln. The Knights are the two-time defending state champions.
In Class C2, in David City, Lutheran High Northeast lost to the defending state champs from Aquinas Catholic, 42-41, in overtime.
Lutheran High (11-1) went for two and the win in OT, but came up just inches short.
